GGF Emergency Glazing Event Proves a Networking Success - Express Glazing Contractors Attend
The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) inaugural Emergency Glazing Networking Event held at the GGF Offices on 24th April proved a great success with some 30 delegates attending the GGF offices to hear presentations from Giles Willson, GGF Deputy Chief Executive and James Lee, GGF Marketing and Communications Manager on the operations of the GGF and its many benefits.
In addition, Paul Rogers of Express Glazing Contractors, a GGF Member and spokesperson for the Emergency Glazing Group gave all in attendance a brief history of the Group, its objectives for the future and a summary of the benefits' of joining. The event was held because the Emergency Glazing Group is keen to expand the UK coverage of the recently launched Emergency Glazing Register, which now has over 70 emergency glazing Member company outlets, that fulfil the GGF Emergency Glazing criteria and are listed on the GGF website with 24/7 telephone numbers, web links direct to their own websites and email addresses.
At the event, delegates had ample opportunity to network at the reception, lunch and later at the Counter Terror Expo at London Olympia where the GGF was exhibiting on behalf of its Members in the Safety and Security, Fire Resistant Glazing, Window Film and Emergency Glazing sectors.
On the success of the event Giles Willson commented, “It was a very good event and I was pleased to see a mix of Members, non-members, suppliers and media attend. It was also pleasing to have the opportunity to present the many facets of the Federation and explain the scale and scope of our work across the industry and beyond.” Paul Rogers added, “We were pleased to meet some very long standing GGF Members who had not previously been to any recent GGF meetings. They all seemed to find the event very worthwhile in terms of understanding how the GGF can really help their business and also the benefits of networking with other Members within the Emergency Glazing Group".
Following the success of this event, the GGF plan to organise future networking events where Members and non-members can network and find out more about the GGF and the benefits of being part of the leading trade organisation in the industry.
